Science conference discusses agriculture and food supply

TUdi participated in the IX International Scientific Conference "Agriculture and Food Supply: Markets and Policies", organised by the Institute of Agrarian Economics, part of Agricultural Academy. The event took place online and in person in Borovets, Bulgaria between 25 and 26 October 2022.

The first day of the conference was split into three plenary sessions - ”Agricultural Commodity Markets”, “Competitiveness and effects of agricultural and commodity markets” and “Agricultural policies in the transition to a Green Economy” each of them followed by a discussion. The topics included food security and sovereignty, the impact of the war in Ukraine on grain prices in the world, the role of CAP subsidies in all EU member states and more.

On the second day of the conference, TUdi took part in the second plenary session called “Innovation, Sustainability and Bioeconomy”. The Bulgarian partners presented their scientific publication Methodological approach for farm typology construction in terms of soil health – the EU case (currently in press), which explores the farm typology and its methodological framework. 

The first International Scientific Conference "Agriculture and Food Supply: Markets and Policies" was held in 2014 by the Institute of Agrarian Economics. All of the editions of the event have welcomed international experts who discuss the most important topics for the present and the future of agriculture.
