TUdi project coordinator Dr. José A. Gómez hosted an international course called “Sustainable land use policies for agroforestry production in Spain in relation to other EU countries and the world”. The event took place on 22-23 November 2021 in the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Seville, Spain.

The course offered an overview of the different approaches for the implementation of sustainable land use policies in rural areas in different countries, with the main goal of updating knowledge on a topic that is usually left uncovered in most curricula. The topic is key for the success of technical and regulatory efforts aimed at sustainable soil use in agroforestry systems in Spain.

The face to face format of the course, with simultaneous translation from English to Spanish, was a meeting point for all those interested in the subject of the course, such as, for example, technicians from public administrations and companies, postgraduate students and researchers who work on aspects related to soil management in agricultural and forest areas. The simultaneous translation allowed interested students and experts who are not fluent in Spanish to participate.
