[The position has been filled.]

University of Turin is looking for a research assistant on an initial 12-month contract to work at project TUdi on analysis and development of algorithms to calculate the nutrient requirement in various cropping systems.

As part of the H2020 TUdi project, decision support tools are being developed to protect soil health, also through the balancing of fertilization on crop requirements, in a long-term perspective. The crop fertilisation requirements are estimated through different approaches and calculation methods, often based on a mass-balance approach.

In this research, the main algorithms for N, P and K fertilisation in arable, tree (fruit trees, vineyards, hazelnut) and grassland systems, used in various European and non-European regions/nations (in particular USA, China and New Zealand) should be collected, analysed and compared. Both the general structure and the individual items of the budget should be analyzed, also through numerical examples obtained from long-term experiments. Technical reports and scientific papers should be written (in English). The applicant should also collaborate with the project partners and with local staff (including master and PhD students).

The net salary is c. 19370 euros per year. Applicants will be examined by a commission, the assessment will be based on the CV and on an interview.
