On 18 February 2025, TUdi hosted a session on 'Opportunities for Assessing the Economic Impact of Soil Restoration Strategies Using SEST' during the 33rd edition of the International AGRA Fair (AGRA2025), held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Organised with the support of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, AGRA2025 is an international agricultural exhibition covering sectors such as modern agricultural machinery, plant protection products, animal husbandry, sustainable farming practices, and digitalisation in farming technologies. The exhibition provides a platform for manufacturers and traders from Southeastern Europe to present their products and services to over 40,000 visitors, including farmers, industry professionals and stakeholders from the agricultural sector.
TUdi’s session 'Opportunities for Assessing the Economic Impact of Soil Restoration Strategies Using SEST' presented the project-developed tool for the economic assessment of applied soil restoration strategies, also known as SEST. Attended by 26 participants, and led by Professor Dimitar Nikolov from New Bulgarian University, the seminar introduced the three modules for evaluating the financial impact of implementing soil-restoring strategies:
MOT (Management Operation Tool) - allows for the calculation of gross margin and the critical point method.
CBAT (Cost-Benefit Analysis Tool) - allows for the calculation of partial budgets and dynamic cost-benefit analysis.
SET (Simulation Tool) - allows for the calculation of profit optimisation, critical point optimisation, and profitability optimisation.
